  • ROLE CALL: Ho! Ho! 'Joe'!

HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 15, 2001 -- Reprising a role in "The Santa Clause" is apparently not as attractive as playing a guy named Joe.

Daily Variety says that the actor-director team of Tim Allen and Tim Pasquin has opted to tackle the comedy "Joe Somebody," after the two temporarily put "The Santa Clause" sequel project in the back burner due to the possible Hollywood strike next summer.

Based upon a 1980s comic book about an African big-game hunter who writes children's books in his spare time, the property was made into a short-live TV series in the late 1980s, with Rene Russo playing the hero's girlfriend.

PRISON BRATT: Benjamin Bratt, he of ex-"Law and Order" fame, will play t
