Synopsis:
Marshall, Chuck and Ho Fook are three regulars at the House of Luk, a local Chinese restaurant. Marshall is a down-and-out salesman who spends much of his time trying to marry-off his ex-wife to avoid paying alimony. Chuck is a building contractor who is frustrated by both his mother's refusal to speak and his equally uncommunicative teenage son. Ho Fook, a believer in Feng Shui - the art of achieving serenity through your surroundings - tries to make a business of it, but cannot seem to make it apply to his life. Watching over this trio of bumbling men, with a Buddha-like presence, is Kwang Luk, the proprietor of the House of Luk. He presents his customers with fortune cookies, whose cryptic messages, once deciphered, hold the spiritual guidance they so desperately need.
