Synopsis:
A coming of age story set in small town in West Texas town during the Cuban Missile crisis. It is the bittersweet saga of Jack Rodriguez and his struggle to understand the present threat on his home soil from Castro's stockpile of nuclear missiles a mere 90 miles away, and his need to understand love: his love for his demanding and uncompromising father, his mother's love for her secret lover Doc, and Jack's own love for two "real" girlfriends (Patsy Farley and Miss Norma Jean Baker), a hot blooded love that is woefully misguided by Jack's identification with Marilyn Monroe and President Jack Kennedy's torrid and not-so-private love affair.
