J'ai Tué Raspoutine (1967)

Synopsis

This uneven docudrama concerns the monk Rasputin (Gert Frobe) and his friendship with Felix Youssopov (Peter McEnery). Rasputin's healing powers endeared him to the family of Czar Nicholas II with his ability to care for the Czar's hemophiliac son and heir to the throne, Alexei. Rasputin's friendship with Felix ultimately led to the much-publicized demise of the mad monk. The film deals with the events that led to Rasputin's death as supposedly recalled by his killer.
