Hong Kong comedy star Stephen Chiau stars in this period piece about Beggar So, a Chinese folk hero. After he's banished from the Army for illiteracy, So becomes a member of the Society of Beggars, eventually being named their king, and in time he becomes respected enough that he's called on to help save the Emperor's life when danger calls.
