Two of Mexico's most popular screen attractions are teamed in Huvia Roja. Jorge Negrete heads the cast as a self-involved mercenary who kills with abandon and tramples on the sensibilities of everyone he meets. Elsa Aguirre co-stars as a religious young lady who has the misfortune to fall in love with the mercenary. Third-billed Alicia Caro delivers a powerhouse performance as a girl whom Negrete humiliates in public, the first stepping stone towards his own downfall. Despite the uncharacteristically unsympathetic nature of his role, Jorge Negrete does what his fans expect of him by singing three sprightly tunes.
