Synopsis:
Loosely based on the life of singer Ruth Etting, the story follows the Chicago gangster who becomes enamored of a dance-hall girl and helps her rise to the top through his crooked and arm-twisting tactics. But, once she gets to where she wants, she begins to spurn him for the song and dance man she really loves. But, the gangster, so hopelessly in love with her, begins to self-destruct into rage and jealousy as she continues to spurn him.
