The Politics of Fur (2001)

Synopsis

Writer/director Laura Nix makes her feature debut with The Politics of Fur, a reworking of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 1973 film The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant. Set in L.A., high-profile music industry producer Una (Katy Selverstone) lives in an all-white residence with a pet baby tiger and a manservant named Dick (T. Jerram Young). Una is introduced to young musician B. (Brynn Horracks), who she wants as a lover and a client. Una's controlling nature comes into conflict with B.'s independent values. The Politics of Fur won several awards at L.A. Outfest in 2002.
