In the 15th century in the Malay archipelago, Gusti Puteri, princess and sister of the King of Majapahit, finds herself torn between duty and desire. Her love for Hang Tuah, military commander of a rival sultan, is forbidden by class rules. But Gusti Puteri is determined to follow her heart and leaves her brother's court for the spiritual solace of the sacred mountain of Ledang. When she realizes that her lover Tuah won't forsake his duty, she agrees to the hateful marriage her brother had originally intended for her.
