The decision to "Rate in X", in films as well as in life, usually falls to a panel of so-called professionals. This 95-minute documentary allows the Average Joe (or Jane) to have a say in the matter. Armed with a microphone and miles of audio tape, filmmakers Lucy Winer and Paula de Konigsberg take to the streets to elicit opinions concerning sexism, both actual and alleged. Responses cover a wide variety of secondary topics, from mainstream magazine covers to out-and-out pornography. Because of the subject matter (and many of the answers), Rate It X was rated R.
