HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 13, 2000 -- Many of Hollywood's veteran stars gathered Sunday to pay tribute to the late Steve Allen. Tim Conway, Milton Berle, Don Knotts, Valerie Harper and Jerry Stiller were among the celebrities who attended the memorial service at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood. "Thank you for being here to celebrate my father's life, a life truly well lived," said Bill Allen, the entertainer's son. Allen died Oct. 30 at his son's Encino, Calif., home of an apparent heart attack. Allen was widely regarded as a talented musician, author, comedian and composer.
