Synopsis
Rockers was made after the the stunning success of the independently made 1972 hit The Harder They Come, which introduced North Americans to reggae music and the Rastafarian lives of many Jamaicans. In the story, Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace, who has been a drummer in reggae bands, decides to try and give his fellow musicians an even break by becoming a record distributor. When local gangsters rip him off and stop his budding music venture cold, his fellow musicians decide to rob the robbers. Practically everyone in this film, beginning with its star, were reggae musicians who were well known in Jamaica.

Punk rockers to honor Ramone at birthday bash
Cheap Trick, Blondie and The Misfits will perform at the Life's a Gas: Joey Ramone's Birthday Bash, a tribute to the late Ramones frontman, who died April 15 of lymphoma, Rolling Stone reports. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, what would have been Ramone's 50th birthday, at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom. There also will be video greetings by friends and musicians who were unable to attend, as well as speakers who will take the stage to remember the legendary punk rocker.

Veteran Rockers Dominate Grammys
Veteran rockers U2, Steely Dan and country singer Faith Hill were among the many winners at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards, stealing the spotlight from Eminem, whose angry lyrics entangled the ceremonies in controversy.
U2 won three statues, including the prestigious Song of the Year and Record of the Year awards for ''Beautiful Day.”
