Second Cousin, Once Removed (1994)

Synopsis

Second Cousin, Once Removed a modern crime mystery in the tradition of film noir presents the classic situation of a wrongly accused man who must prove his innocence. Clyde (Pete Ellis) goes to Los Angeles to meet Laura (Kim Little) a distant relative who has been writing to him. He arrives to find Laura kidnapped and implicated in stealing money from local gangsters. Clyde is then framed and finds himself on the run from the police and the mobsters who believe that he has murdered Laura. This small, low-budget film has its interesting moments, and director John Shorney manages to generate some suspense and sympathy for Clyde. The ending is predictable, but the story is fairly entertaining and worth a viewing by fans of the genre.
