Synopsis:
Following the death of her adoptive parents, a successful young black optometrist establishes contact with her biological mother -- a lonely white factory worker living in poverty in East London. As the two warily forge a bond, they must learn to cope with the tensions and confusions of their extended families and the hidden truths that remain between them.
