Synopsis:
He calls himself "Silver Man”--a musician who performs on boardwalks along beach fronts, the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, the Montmartre in Paris. No one's sure of his real name, or where he comes from, or where he is going. All we know is he arrives on the boardwalk, claims his space, and begins to play his music, holding his audience with eyes that appear to see inside the swelling crowd. Silver Man, every inch of his body covered in silver--not the polished silver of jewelry, rather a soft, flat silver as if made of skin itself. After his performance, after the crowd has gone home, he goes to the room he has rented in the once-grand Ocean View Hotel, which was long ago inhabited by the upper crust but is now sub-divided into small cubicles for anonymous crumbs. Also living there, sharing a common wall with Silver Man, is Tivoli, beautiful as a starry night. Silver Man can't help but notice her, nor she him. There is one problem. Tivoli's boyfriend, Jake. He's charismatic, great looking, but a border-line psycho, constantly venting his anger over his failed schemes on Tivoli. For this reason, Silver Man doesn't like Jake (to put it mildly), and Jake despises Silver Man. Before long, Tivoli finds herself torn between the two of them.
