The Florida-based tabloid The National Enquirer has agreed to give police tape recordings that reportedly contain actor Robert Blake pressuring his late wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, to get an abortion, according to The Associated Press. Bakley had reportedly taped her phone conversations with Blake because the actor accused her of trapping him into marriage by lying about using birth control. At one point, the Enquirer quotes Blake as saying, "If that's the way you can live and you can live with yourself doing stuff like that, it's gonna come down on you." The tabloid's editor-in-chief told AP that the Enquirer did not pay for the tapes, but were given to them by a Bakley family member. The Enquirer intends to "cooperate fully" with investigators. Blake's lawyer, Harland Braun, told AP that the tapes "are probably pretty consistent with what they were talking about at the time," but added that they don't mean Blake killed his wife.

If you've seen (relatively) new-school dramas like "Uptown Saturday Night" (1974) and "Tap" (1989), then you've seen the solo work of Harold Nicholas. Siblings Harold (born 1921) and Fayard (born 1914) began their career in vaudeville -- entertaining audiences and smashing racial barriers as they segued into film. They stopped performing together in 1960.
