Synopsis:
Four separate episodes, connected by the theme of how Latino laborers are abused in New York. Recent immigrants take on any work they can get, whether legal and safe or not. In one story, a young man is buried beneath an avalanche of bricks as he works on a construction site in New Jersey. In another, a street performer tries in vain to get his daughter accepted into a school. The final narrative tells of a garment factory worker who needs to raise money for her sick child back in Mexico. Ignored by her heartless employers, she becomes increasingly outraged.
