Synopsis:
During World War II amateur inventor Freddie Randall is temporarily blinded in an attempt to break the land speed record. While recovering, he falls in love with an American singing star who''s in the same hospital after losing both of her legs in an air raid. Later, while living in Scotland and attempting to break the world water speed record, Freddie is the man in whose field Rudolph Hess lands in May 1941.
