Synopsis:
Set in 1972, 13-year-old Jacqueline - a mixed-race girl and a talented Leicester school athlete - is full of life but is constantly beaten down by her overbearing mother, Vivienne. Jacqueline is determined to pack her adolescence into a few weeks beginning with losing her virginity. She must also continue her journey towards understanding her life, often running through events without stopping to consider the consequences, while keeping alive her goal of being a world class track star.
