The Perfect Age of Rock 'n' Roll (2011)
Synopsis
An egocentric rock star retreats to his hometown to recover from the humiliation of a major career misstep, and begins to reassess his priorities after reconnecting with the childhood friend who helped launch him to stardom. Spyder's (Kevin Zegers) first album was an unqualified hit. But when his follow-up bombs with fans and critics alike, he decides to go back to the place where it all began. Once there, the humiliated rocker quickly reconnects with his former best friend and songwriting partner, Eric (Jason Ritter), who now teaches music to middle school students. Later, as the two former friends begin some serious soul searching, they are given a second chance to reclaim their rightful place at the top of the charts. In order to do so, however, they must get to L.A. and lay down some hot new tracks in just two weeks. Piling into a massive RV with their feisty manager, Rose (Taryn Manning), and a rock legend August West (Peter Fonda) at the wheel, Spyder, Eric, and their band begin to make preparations a comeback that will make rock 'n' roll history.
