Synopsis:
The blending of archival footage with new interviews and dramatic recreations bring the cultural history of the Beat Generation to life. Marking the birth of this countercultural movement from its inception in West Coast bohemian living in the 1950s to the hippie enclaves of San Francisco in the 1960s and 70s, The film proposes an effect of Beat philosophy and aesthtics on art and popular culture as well as such timely contemporary issues as gay rights, women's rights, minority rights and cultural sensitivity and awareness.
