Synopsis

Sean Travis directed this New England-made indie romantic comedy-drama about three couples in a working-class port town. In a peep-show booth, Jimmy (Robert Longstreet) becomes intrigued by Marita (Justina Machado), the girl behind the glass. At his uncle's funeral, Vinnie (Erik Palladino) meets attractive Jessie (Brigitte Bako), who's attending services for her aunt in an adjacent chapel. On Saturday, Jimmy and Vinny join their pal, Ralph (Patrick Fischler), at a luncheonette. Each recounts what they experienced 24 hours earlier, and the action moves into the subsequent week to reveal outcomes. Jimmy explains that his later meeting with Marita in the street has launched a nice relationship. Jessie conceals her marriage from Vinnie, telling him lies about her husband and initiating risky public sex. Neurotic Ralph, a 25-year-old virgin, sleeps with overweight Elaine (Shana O'Neil), who desires sex before leaving to join a convent. Ralph climbs into bed with the woman he always wanted, waitress Cheryl (Michelle Azar), who turns on him after hearing about Elaine. Music includes Louis Armstrong tunes. Shown at the 1998 AFI Film Festival.
