Synopsis:
An impressionistic approach to the life and times of the iconoclastic classical pianist. Each of the 32 sections in Francois Girard's film is a variation on Gould. Along the way viewers will learn of the artist and the recluse, the humorist and the nature-lover, the financier and the iconoclast. Underscoring it all: Gould himself, peerlessly performing music by Bach, Hindemith and others.
