Ucna Leta Izumitelja Polza (1982)

Synopsis

"Snail" is the nickname of a young would-be inventor (Miha Petrovcic) whose indulgent mother and skeptical father are at odds about his experiments. The neighbors in the apartment building where the family lives are also not particularly appreciative of the intermittent blasts and threatening sounds that are generated in Snail's bedroom laboratory. Among Snail's admirers are two of his classmates whose growing crush on each other lead the girl's parents to insist that she pay more attention to her budding career as a pianist. Meanwhile, Snail continues to try to change solar energy into electrical energy, but even if he does not succeed, he has started to win his father over -- indicating that his "apprenticeship" is reaching closure. This film is directed at the younger set, but for some viewers, the surprising scenes of families at a nudist camp might warrant parental discretion.
