Synopsis:
The story of two rival families from Milan, one Jewish and the other Catholic, who are competing merchants in 1938 Rome. The Jewish Simeones want to transform their haberdashery into a modern, ready-to-wear store. They are up against their Catholic rival Umberto Melchiorri, who owns an elegant boutique. In the meantime, they face Mussolini's new racial laws and an encroaching Holocaust that will not spare them.
