Uzlasma (1991)

Uzlasma (1991)

Synopsis

Recent political events in Turkey take on a new life through the eyes of an actor who has been cast in a re-enactment. Though few outside the country may know this, Mehmet Ali Agca, the man who attempted to assassinate Pope John-Paul II, earlier succeeded in assassinating a moderate Turkish politician, bringing down the government and precipitating a military coup. In this movie, an actor who has been cast to play the role of the assassin has begun doing a great deal of research about the man and his times. In fact, he is delving just a little too deep for his own peace of mind or that of those around him.
