Synopsis:
BAP have been a successful band for the past twenty years. Their music- rock 'n' roll with German lyrics -is written by the band's founding member and lead singer Wolfgang Niedecken. Niedecken's song texts are written in Kolsch, the dialect of his home town of Cologne. BAP have appeared together with the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and Bruce Springsteen; they took part in a demonstration with Joseph Beuys against the 1982 NATO summit in Bonn and, ten years later, they joined performers in a festival against racism and neo-fascism. The band have produced 16 albums to date- with a varied line-up of musicians. The film combines footage from recent concerts as well as rare archival footage, with Wolfgang Niedecken's lyrics and commentary to provide a portrait of a band which, two decades later, is still capable of inspiring more than a million fans afresh.
