Zlatye Gory

Synopsis

Boris Poslavsky stars in Golden Mountains as a Russian peasant who willingly embraces Bolshevism when the revolution comes to pass. Alas, Poslavsky is a simple soul and as such turns out to be the perfect dupe for a coterie of filthy capitalists. The villains try to get our hero to persuade his comrades to reject the Future in favor of the Past, but in the end the clarion call of communism is too strong to resist. Sobered to his responsibilities by the death of a friend, Poslavsky rallies his fellow workers to call a strike against the evil money men. Its propaganda content aside, Golden Mountains proved fairly entertaining to its American viewers back in 1932.
