Synopsis
A long, hard strike in the mines of Silver City (New Mexico) in the early 50s and the prejudice against the Mexican workers who sought to receive the same treatment as their white co-workers, is the storyline and backdrop for this combative story. One of the most important films of American cinema, it was directed, produced and acted by a group of progressive professionals, all of whom were persecuted by Senator McCarthyDTs witch hunt.
