In this earnest documentary, set against a backdrop which illumines their meanings, twenty-four politically themed poems expressing a wide variety of moods are read to the cameras, generally by their authors, some of them Sandinista soldiers. In addition, a number of poets and artists complain about the heavy, censorious hand of the Sandinista government in its dealings with them.
