2 Broke Girls cancelled

2 Broke Girls, starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, has been cancelled after six seasons.
The CBS comedy show was axed on Friday (12May17), and followed the story of two waitresses, Max and Caroline – played by Dennings and Behr – who try to raise cash to launch their own business.
Dennings took to social media to thank viewers for watching since 2011. “We’ve had a wonderful six season as Max and Caroline and we thank all of you for watching and enjoying it along with us,” she wrote.
“We are so proud of our time on 2 Broke Girls and of all the things this experience has given us, the most treasured is our lifelong friendship. With love, Kat and Beth,” the 30-year-old concluded.
The show has been averaging seven million total viewers, and also starred Matthew Moy, Jonathan Kite, Garrett Morris, and Jennifer Coolidge. Michael Patrick King and comedian Whitney Cummings co-created the hit show.
The series posted solid ratings throughout its run, with season six averaging 5.6 million viewers per episode, airing mostly on Monday nights, and it briefly moved to Wednesdays and Thursdays during its fifth season.
CBS has already renewed comedies including The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces, as well as dramas Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Madam Secretary and The Good Wife spin-off The Good Fight.
