When an American professor is on vacation on an island off the coast of France with his wife, he follows his two-year old son around talking to the camera about various personal subjects. He discusses his love life, his wife's history of abandonment, her resultingly unhealthy relationship with their child, and he later accuses his wife of infidelity and photographs her and some of his students in the nude.
