Synopsis
Hammersmith is a mentally disturbed man who is a patient in a mental institution. He has delusions about possessing satanic powers, and after becoming friendly with a laid-back orderly named Billy Breedlove, promises Billy fantastic wealth and power if he will aid him in escaping. Billy agrees and Hammersmith does escape, initially rewarding Billy to some extent with the help of a singer/waitress named Jimmie Jean Jackson. But eventually, Hammersmith and Jimmie Jean turn against Billy.
