Wealthy, well-known car dealer Bill and his wife Bernadette have a delicately balanced relationship that is riddled with lies. When Bill finds a rat in their swimming pool filter, a man called Bone mysteriously shows up and removes it. The couple are grateful until Bone then forces his way into their home, intent on raping Bernadette and stealing from them. Then Bone uncovers some discrepancies in their financial records and blackmails Bill into going to the bank to get him the money he wants. Bernadette nervously waits for his return with Bone, who has made it clear he will kill her if anything goes wrong. However, while they are waiting, Bill has change of heart about saving his wife, and Bone and Bernadette form a bond.
