Bonnie visits her stuntwoman sister Laurie who is on location in a small town. When Bonnie is attacked by the son of an influential local man, she defends herself and kills him with his own gun. Because of corruption in the town, her seemingly simple self-defense case is turned upside-down and she is sent to the state prison. Bonnie is attacked and killed in jail, and when Laurie goes to claim her body, she is suspicious about death certificate which says her sister died of a drug overdose. Determined to expose the cover-up, Laurie purposely gets arrested in order to see the prison from the inside. Once there, Laurie quickly realizes that it was the cruel guard Kay who was behind Bonnie's death. During a fight, Kay is about to kill Laurie when she is shot by a kind guard, Laurie is released, and goes back to living as a free woman.
