U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant Burns is serving at an American embassy in the Middle East. He and the rest of the security force find their jobs complicated by the restrictions placed on them by the American Ambassador who is afraid of offending the local government. This situation becomes critical when the compound is attacked by terrorists and Burns and his company are unable to do what is necessary to prevent the invaders from taking hostages and escaping. Burns makes the decision to defy his orders and takes it upon himself to hunt down the terrorists and rescue the hostages.
