Mathieu is in Lebanon on his way to Syria on business for a French telecom company. While he is there, he has a romance with Zoha, singer at the hotel bar. Before leaving, an acquaintance named Abbas comes to see him and asks him to return a favor he did for Mathieu years before. Abbas has information on the assassination of the Lebanese premier and wants to sell it to the French government in exchange for a visa. Mathieu explains that he doesn't have sufficient connections to help him, but Abbas feels he is in danger and is desperate to escape. Before Mathieu leaves the country, he is being followed by two rival security services and Zoha's estranged husband.
