Synopsis
Twenty years after the riots in Los Angeles, it is revealed that hip hop forewarned us of - possibly ignited - the worst civil unrest of the 20th century. Here, we trace the rise of civil unrest in Los Angeles in the 80's and 90's and explore why the populace chose to rise up violently against police abuse and perceived injustices.
