Aaron Clark has it all: financial security, a beautiful wife and a close-knit circle of old friends. But this cozy life is shattered by the arrival of his former classmate and proverbial snake, Teddy. Teddy insinuates himself into their lives, "befriending" Aaron's wife and hijacking his 40th birthday surprise and then begins stalking them - at home, at work and in cyberspace. Bitter over Aaron's success, Teddy pries into his business affairs, hinting at improprieties, and threatening extortion and revenge. He keeps pushing until Aaron snaps, leading his friends to begin to entertain doubts about his character.
