Bookkeeper Jacob has a new client: the flamboyant yet snappy actress Anne--who is past her prime. During their first appointment on her houseboat, he finds out that her financial affairs are a mess. She has so many debts that she has to sell her beloved boat. She no longer has any contact with her ex, apart from when it comes to their 12-year-old daughter. Jacob is so fascinated by the lifestyle of the actress and her entourage that he neglects his own loving wife. The life of Anne is so grand and gripping that he starts to regard his own life as boring and pale. He thinks up a plan to save her houseboat and wants to announce it on the evening of the farewell dinner.
