A skilled shipyard worker named Mero finds himself a single father. His son Lorenzo was born from a out of wedlock relationship with an Albanian girl and is his only reason for living. Mero dreams that one day his son will become a champion boxer, to compensate for his own anonymous career as an amateur in the ring. As such, Mero puts his son through a strenuous training program, teaching him how to throw punches and to protect himself. The harmonious balance of their relationship is disturbed by the return of Lorenzo's mother Denisa and by the son's new relationship with young Ana.
