Synopsis
The 1971 Concert for Bangaladesh organized by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar is chronicled in this documentary. Two benefit concerts were performed at Madison Square Garden in order to raise money for East Pakistani refugees who were first victims of a cyclone in 1970, and then of the Bangladesh Liberation War and atrocities against them in 1971. 40,000 people attended, making it the largest benefit concert every held at that time. The film includes performances by Harrison, Shankar, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Ringo Starr.
