This murky revenge tale is based on a story by Michael Leighton. Future Dr. Who star William Hartnell plays one of the many hate-filled convicts that he essayed in 1940s British films. Released after a long incarceration, Hartnell is determined to get even with the gang that double-crossed him. Bypassing murder, Hartnell reasons that the best way to wreak vengeance is to re-steal the money that the gang had pilfered long ago. Though it has an all-British cast and crew, Appointment with Crime was an Anglo/American coproduction.
