Eleven-year-old Will Brennan is perhaps the biggest fan of Liverpool football. While attending Catholic boys' boarding school in Southern England, his fervent passion for the sport proves to be his greatest joy. One day his absentee father Gareth reappears, providing him not only the hope of being a family again but also two tickets to the biggest football match of the year: the Champions League Final in Istanbul. When his father suddenly dies, Will finds himself devastated but determined to fulfill their dream of attending the game, even if he must make the trans-European journey on his own.
