Seventy-five-year-old Emma Bridges, alone and estranged from her only daughter and grandchildren, blows out the candles on her birthday cake and makes a wish to spend one month with her daughter so she can reconcile their troubled past. When she wakes up the next morning, she finds herself 35 years younger but with the knowledge and wisdom of someone much older. Emma poses as a nanny and goes to work for her daughter Joy Bookman, who she learns is on the brink of a divorce, and helps to put her life back together.
