Synopsis
Dr. Lily McKee, an astronomer in Colorado, discovers that a comet has dislodged several giant asteroids that are on a crash course with Earth. She quickly sends her young son to her father's home in Dallas and contacts the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help deal with the crisis. The first asteroid hits Kansas City with devastating results. Lily then learns that a more dangerous segment of the comet is headed toward Earth, and the attempts to divert its path with laser fire create a castastrophic disaster -- a meteor shower and huge asteroid headed directly for Texas.
