Synopsis
This video, part of the Awesome children's video series, takes kids for a thrilling look at the world of carnival and amusement park rides. Children will learn about the history of rides, including a view of the first Ferris Wheel, built in 1893, and information about famous and historical amusement parks, including New York's Coney Island. Then, the video shows children a variety of rides available today, mostly focusing on roller coasters and carnival rides. The roller coasters featured take the rider through twists and turns that head every which way. This video also covers the basic principles of science that rides employ and how some of the more advanced rides are designed. Children will see a carnival being assembled and taken down, learning about all the work that goes into the business.
