This video, part of the Awesome children's video series, takes kids through the world of mines and mining. Children will find out about the history of different types of mines, how various materials are mined, and what dangers the miners encountered, from the past up until the present. They will study all of the equipment used in the mining process, including machines used back in the early days of iron mining. This video will also take children on a tour of the Soudan Iron Ore Mine in Minnesota, which has become a state park and now houses the Soudan Underground Research Site within the park grounds.
