This film is one in a three-part series that surveys warriors of the ancient world. The series, narrated by Colgate Salsbury, was produced for The Learning Channel. In this volume, the soldiers of classical antiquity are featured. With visual aids, including period art and re-enactments, the viewer is transported to ancient times and places. Inside a Roman legion, the viewer sees the heavy infantry that was the backbone of their forces. Spartan soldiers adhere to their strict ways, and Macedonians await the command of their leader, Alexander the Great.
