The Planets, an A&E educational series, explores the universe through previously unreleased NASA footage, consultations with scientific specialists including astronomers and astronauts, and telescope and satellite images combined with computer-generated graphics and effects. Vol. 4: Moon recounts the Cold War-driven space race, sputnik, and Apollo, landing on the moon, and the discovery of the dark side. Moons of other planets are compared to Earth's as well. It is appropriate for middle school and high school classes on science, technology, astronomy, and world history.
